Getting Started
Your step-by-step guide to setting up your first Minecraft server with MineXHost.
Choose Your Plan
Start by selecting a hosting plan that fits your needs. Consider:
- Player count: How many players will join at once?
- Server type: Vanilla, Spigot/Paper, or modded?
- Modpack size: Larger modpacks need more RAM
💡 Tip: Use our RAM Calculator to get a personalized recommendation based on your modpack and player count.
Once you've chosen, click "Order Now" and complete checkout. Your server will be set up automatically within minutes.
Access Your Control Panel
After purchase, you'll receive an email with your login credentials. Access your server through:
- Go to panel.minexhost.com
- Log in with your credentials
- Click on your server to open the management dashboard
💡 Tip: Bookmark the panel URL for quick access. You can also manage billing at billing.minexhost.com
Configure Your Server
Before starting, you may want to configure a few things:
- Server Version: Go to "Startup" tab to change Minecraft version
- Server Type: Install Forge, Fabric, Paper, or a modpack from the "Software" section
- Server Properties: Edit server.properties in the File Manager to set gamemode, difficulty, MOTD, etc.
💡 Tip: For modded servers, install your modpack first using one-click install, then add additional mods if needed.
Start Your Server
Ready to go? Start your server:
- Click the green "Start" button on your server dashboard
- Watch the console — wait for "Done!" message
- Your server is now online and ready for players!
First startup may take a few minutes as the server generates the world.
Connect to Your Server
Find your server address in the panel dashboard. It will look something like:
To connect in Minecraft:
- Open Minecraft and click "Multiplayer"
- Click "Add Server"
- Enter a name and paste your server address
- Click "Done" then join your server!
💡 Tip: Want a cleaner address without the port? Add a Dedicated IP for $5/month.
Invite Your Friends
Share your server address with friends so they can join! Make sure to:
- Give them the exact server address from your panel
- Tell them which Minecraft version to use
- If modded, share the modpack download link
Consider setting up a whitelist if you want to control who can join.
